What is a Request for Information (RFI) on goAML?
An RFI (Request for Information) is a message the UAE FIU sends through the goAML message board when it needs further information from a reporting entity, either about a report the entity filed or about a matter involving several entities. The entity responds by submitting an RFI report through goAML within the timeframe the Unit specifies in the request.
The duty to cooperate is grounded in Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025 Article 18, which requires entities to furnish any additional information the Unit requests without invoking confidentiality. An acknowledgement that a report was received is not the same as an RFI; an RFI may arrive days, weeks, or months later. Entities should monitor the goAML message board regularly, because missing an RFI or replying late is a compliance failure. Responses should be complete and reference the original report’s web reference number.
