What is an Additional Information File (AIF) on goAML?

An AIF (Additional Information File) is used to supplement an STR or SAR already filed on goAML when new information or context emerges. Where new transactions also need to be reported against the existing report, an AIFT (Additional Information File with Transactions) is used instead. In both cases the original report’s web reference number should be quoted in the FIU reference field so the FIU can link the submissions.

This supports the ongoing duty in Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025 Article 18 to provide the Unit with any additional information it requests and to keep it informed. An AIF is not a fresh report; it builds on an existing one. Entities should file an AIF promptly when material facts change, for example when investigation reveals further linked accounts or when a customer’s explanation proves false, so the FIU’s case file stays current.
