What details must be included in an STR filed on goAML?

Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025 Article 18 requires a detailed report containing all available data and information about the suspicious transaction and the parties involved. In practice a goAML STR should identify the subject or subjects, including full identification details, capture the transaction data such as amounts, dates, accounts, and instruments, and set out the indicators that triggered suspicion.

The most important element is a clear narrative explaining the grounds for suspicion: what was observed, why it is unusual for that customer, and what the entity concluded. Supporting documents should be retained and provided if the Unit requests them. A weak or generic narrative is a frequent inspection finding, because it prevents the FIU from acting. The report should be filed without delay and the entity should keep a full record of the filing and the underlying analysis.
